Cinta Sate -Senario

The 4 of us, Shaq, Aisyah, Azely and I met up after a very long while. Movie before dinner. Despicable Me is awesome! Cute little yellow goggle-eyed beans! And the little kid too!

"IT'S SO FLUFFY I'M GONNA DIE!"

There was one scene that actually made me tear. A first for me.

After that, we headed to Lau Pa Sat for the main event. SATAY!

Yeah Yeah Yeah -New Politics

My virgin trip to Pulau Ubin! With Sarina, together with Mun Yee and Xin Pei whom I had asked along.It's a good thing Sarina brought a map along, despite it having a hole.Finally set foot on Pulau Ubin. I was dam excited about it!The friendly info counter guy helped take a picture for us.We took a picture of the map, just in case. Well, it worked, somewhat. I lost the map brochure whilst cycling. =/Starting off. I had stay at the back to ensure everyone stays in the group and no one gets left behind. At the same time, Sarina led the team. Not just that, as Xin Pei had just learnt to ride the bicycle, I had to guide her along, following closely behind her.Accident count: 1Hm, does it look like we're going in the wrong direction?This doesn't look good.We reached a dead end. Initially we assumed that we were going in the right direction, until Sarina went further passed till our bicycles weren't accesible to the place that we thought we went was the right one. And behind us were a couple of girls, who also got lost, and tried to follow us as a guide. We had to turn back, with the girls joining us.

Not a good start to the whole cycling trip eh?

And I thought that we could actually make friends with them...

Anyway, we finally found our way, or at least I thought we were. And our first checkpoint!I was at a lost.And the two girls actually left before us! And due to that, I decided to call them the Pang Seh girls, for leaving us behind when we actually helped to 'un-lost' them.

Oh we heard birds calling. Probably for a mate. As we saw this bird first...and then this one, probably a male, as it had a longer tail as the other one. Probably used to attract his mate. The kind of bird you would NEVER ever see on the mainland.And we reached our second checkpoint. Look how happy Sarina is. Haha!This residence had flowers growing at the front of the house.I used to see these around when I was in primary school. Good times.Probably the most iconic thing you would remember if you're here. Cookie monster!I wanted to play sepak takraw...Mun Yee's house. Planning to visit her during Hari Raya. Haha.Oh, and we found this lizard running around in the grass.

Our 3rd mini-checkpoint. I turned and actually saw monkeys being kept in captivity. So I suggested we stopped for a while and take a look.Look! My long distance relative! Being kept in cages...

After cycling for what looked like hours, we finally reached our main checkpoint: Chek Jawa!

Welcome to Mun Yee's second home. Apparently I already entered without being invited in. Haha!Acting like a manatee.Her house actually held an exhibition! Preserved animals that you can actually find there in Ubin!Sea pens! I was imagining something else.And the house actually has a fireplace that doesn't work! How cool is that? Well, at least it's decorated!Sarina watering firewood, and I was hoping (pretending) to see flowers growing.It really does look like I'm pretending to pee. I was actually pretending to intentionally face the other way with both thumbs up. Meh.Mun Yee's jacuzzi. Nothing classy about this jacuzzi though. Haha.Out towards the back of the house, is a dutch door! First time seeing such a door. Meh...The back of the house. The design is so cool. Nothing you would in Singapore. Probably in Australia. I would like to live in this kind of house, if given the chance.The pier.Unglam maximum.The next model. Hahaha!At the jetty.Me and my crazy face. Haha!Pulau Sekudu, also known as Frog Island. Inaccessible.Look! It's Karen!Time for JUMP SHOTS!Deja vu picture.My meditation powers have proved to much for the camera to take.The coastal boardwalk. It's a very long coastal boardwalk.We saw tons of mudskippers! Took pictures of the bigger ones.The tree of life and death.The Pang Seh Girls! Argh!As we continued down the boardwalk, we entered the mangrove area. Lots of tiny mangrove crabs, with one pincer at least 2 times bigger than its whole body. We had to be careful as there weren't any barriers to keep ourselves from falling over. Lots of ant nests and greenery. Followed the path all the way back to the entrance of Chek Jawa. We have basically covered the whole of the place, so we took our bicycles and made our way to Mamam Beach. The road there was full of ups and downs, literally. And we made a stop which I later found was called Balai Quarry. And what truly amazed was the water over there.THE WATER'S FREAKING BLUE! I'm like awestruck at how the blue the water there. Because you would never see waters that blue around Singapore. At that moment I wasn't even sure if I'm still in Singapore territory. I was greatly reminded of the water when I was over at Tioman Island. Except that the water here in this quarry is much deeper.

After much rest, we continue our journey, ups and downs.

Reached Mamam Beach, and was quite disappointed at the sight the moment I reached. There was basically nothing there, except a toilet and a view of the sea. We had to continue on our way, anyhow. And Xin Pei said that there's a farm not far from there, and so we cycled on the offroad track.

And we did pass by a residence. Xin Pei told us that there's a gigantic boar being kept there! And surely we did see it! It was huge! But no pictures here as there weren't any good pictures of it. =(

But we saw rabbits!!!This rabbit has eyes that could kill...AK Rabbit.Now this is what I really call lepak!This rabbit is so cute!After enjoying the cuteness of the bunnies, we had to make our way back to the starting point, as we had to make it there before the rental time expires, so we cycled back at a faster pace. Half way through, I recognised a familiar road and followed it back. The whole journey took us about 4 hours in total.

And we were like so reluctant to leave the place, as you can see from our faces... But we had as Mun Yee and Xin Pei had plans.Total number of accidents: 3

1st: Xin Pei crashing into a bush after losing control of the bicycle.

2nd: Not really an accident, but Mun Yee's bicycle chain fell out of the gear. Took me about 10 mins to get it fixed.

3rd: Me crashing into Xin Pei as the brakes were not strong enough for me to stop. But nothing serious.

Virgin trip proved an eye opener. Away from the urban life from the mainland, and observing the simple kampung life that was going on there. Lots of natural habitat, with creatures living peacefully without having to worry much about having their places being taken away due to development. I would definitely go back there one day, to cover the west part of Ubin, since we only covered the whole of the east section. Well, until then.

Here Is Gone -Goo Goo Dolls

Apologies to Abu, Saiful, Daiyu, Yuhan, Zaki and Azely for not being able to attend the HDR attend. I had to attend my colleague's function. Basically it's to commemorate the arrival of Teacher Taufik and Teacher Su's first child named Furqan, and to do a prayer for him so that his life will be smooth sailing.

I met Sarina first at Jurong Point, after which we met up with Alfie at her workplace, which is Coffee Bean. And then we proceeded to the newlyweds' house.

I was reluctant to hold him in my arms, because for fear that I might drop him. But eventually I did, because Alfie forced him onto me. -_-

We played with him, even though he was sleeping. Though it's bad, but Teacher Taufik played with him as well.

After playing with him, it's time that we put him back into his cot, where he'll continue sleeping.
Frankly speaking, that was the first time I held a baby. I was scared at first, but I got comfortable after that. I had to be careful with the neck, especially, coz if his neck is to be hanging without any support, it might cause problems.

Never Be Lonely -The Feeling

After 3 years of my life in RP, I would have never thought that I would be graduating. Made lots of friends, and had a few cliques. No matter how big or small the events that happened throughout my poly life, I cherish every single one of them.

First was W26K, and then when Year 2 started, I started to know people from DIDM. And then before you know it, time flies, and we have already graduated (as on 11th May 2010).

Anyway, on to the pictures!

At first when I entered Republic Polytechnic, I was unsure of what to expect, hearing lots of bad comments about this polytechnic. But now that I think about it, it's not so bad. It's the friends you made along the way that made your life in poly memorable and fun. Doesn't really matter what school you go to as long as you enjoy it with your friends.

Run With The Wolves -The Prodigy

Yi Yin called me at about 8am in the morning, asking me whether I was free to come down and help out with some job. I was still sleeping my ass off. Logistics, basically. Since I had nothing on the whole day, I accepted it.

Reached Eunos at about 11.30am. And took the bus to the office where Yi Yin works. The place was very familiar to me as Zai Studios was nearby.

Yi Yin picked me up at the bus stop and brought me to the office where she works. It wasn't far.

Well, what greeted me when I entered Fletch-D office was... a mess. There was lots of headroom. And I remembered the target board from the Li Ning event, and it was cut in half. Our first job? To clean out some of the junk.

Oh, and I made a new friend! Yi Yin's secondary schoolmate. A pity I forgot the name. -_-

Once that is done, Wayne, the boss of the place, sent the both of us to the warehouse, where we're supposed to do our work.

Our job was to print the pictures onto the shirts. There was the front and back. My friend did the front, while I did the back. It was fun, and I forgot what this type of printing is called...

Ah, screen printing!

The machine is very, VERY HOT! If you have no idea how hot it is, check the temperature needed for the image to be printed onto the shirt in the picture below. That's the machine used to print the image onto the shirt.
Basically you have to lay the shirt flat onto the rubber platform, place the film where the image is printed on, with the printed part facing down, on top of the shirt. Making sure that that the shirt is flat, pull the lever down, so that the the shirt, together with the print is clamped in between the top and bottom platforms. After about 5 seconds, lift up the lever, and the top platform will be released. Pull out the film and the image is pasted onto the shirt! =D

That's how many shirts we had to imprint. Tsk!

This is the first time I did warehouse job. We had to load the boxes full of finished shirts onto the trolley. And what a freaking hot day it was.
To summarise everything, it was a good experience. And good exercise too! Especially pulling the lever down to clamp takes a little of energy off you for every shirt. My right arm was especially tired. It's a good thing we were in an air-conditioned room. Else we'd be sweating in the 'spa.'

I will never take for granted the people who did the shirt printing again, after what I've gone through.

You And I Both -Jason Mraz

Outing to Universal Studios Singapore with Zaki, Xuman, Kahmun, Peiqi, Peien, Yuhan, Fen Ni, Baoyan and me! To put it simply, FAMAZING! Definitely worth the $69 ($3 for the ticket trip to Sentosa)! Oh, and happy belated birthday to Zaki!

Before we entered, we already took a group photo. =)As we entered...We took a group photo with Frankie!We wanted to take a group shot with Panda but apparently he needed to go for a bamboo shoot break. =(It just felt that we weren't in Singapore anymore.All the attractions that are available, including restrooms. Haha.And the weather was blazing hot!First area: MADAGASCAR!

The ride was... short. But it was good. It was only the appetiser. Hehe.

2nd Area: FAR FAR AWAY (the land of fairy tales featuring the characters from Shrek)

Our first roller coaster ride was the Enchanted Airways. It was my first time riding a roller coaster. I know my adrenaline will shoot through the roof. So I tried to keep my composure. And my first time riding the roller coaster, alone. =(

Oh well, definitely an eye opener. But it ended as soon as we were starting to enjoy it. And I survived my first roller coaster! Yay me! =D

Next stop:

It's 3D+special effects. E.g. when the donkey sneezes, water will spray onto your face. And when you're 'flying' on the dragon, wind will blow onto your face. The chair gallops as you 'gallop' on the horse. Oh, and 3D glasses! Haha!

It was cooling while we were in there, but we exited eventually.

Third Area: LOST WORLD aka JURASSIC PARK

Next ride was the

A 4-seater ride, with 2 sitting on each side, front and back, away from each other. So it's either you go forwards, or backwards. It was a long queue.

And most of the time, I'll make a spastically retarded face. That's 2 times the retardedness.

I sat on the ride facing the back, with Yuhan sitting beside me. Behind me sat Zaki. And we're planning to scream the whole time the cart moved. And we did. Lots of noise. Haha!

Next ride was the Jurassic Park Rapids Adventure. It was a wet ride. And to prepare for that, we actually bought ponchos. We all look like failed Jedis in translucent plastic coats, because as we joined in the queue, NONE of them was wearing any water protection gear. But we didn't mind because we all looked stupid TOGETHER. Hahahaha!

Just nice, the circulare raft seats 9 people. I had to fold my jeans up till my knee, and take off my shoes, as we expect it to be a wet ride. And it was definitely a ride! The trip throughout was made as realistic as possible. And halfway through, we had to go through a very long tunnel, barely any light. And WE SANG ZAKI A BIRTHDAY SONG, SCREAMING IN THE DARK! That was one of the most epic moments of the trip.

The climax was when the raft started elevating, and the door opened. We all went O.O when we saw a steep slope down to the other side, and we all screamed for our lives. The water splashed on us as we hit the bottom. Xuman unfortunately got wet the most, despite wearing the poncho. She's just dam suay. Haha!

Next Area: ANCIENT EGYPT

Hahaha! And I didn't even know this was taken. XD

As we entered, what greeted us was cold air, a winding labyrinth, and a very eerie environment. It was long and snakey. During that time, I forgot the reason why we entered the place in the first place. Kahmun was feeling scared at the time. It's not hard to understand why, given the spooky setting, and the one way path that just seemed neverending.

Eventually we reached the ride, after a very long walk. Kahmun was shaken, but I'm amazed that she did it.

And then finally, the main event. This was the most torturous moment. As I was kept reminded that it was a hi-speed ride, my mind was in a whirl, not knowing what to expect. It started slow, with lots of scenes at the first part. And just when I thought that the ride was starting to get really crazy, it stopped. And the 'wall' cracked, with scarabs crawling out of it. And what I didn't expect was when the coaster started reversing so hard, we got pulled back, up then down the slope. And then it stopped. Elevated, spun round slowly. And then I got freaked out, VERY BADLY, as it accelerated upwards, and then it went down at such an angle I felt pulled longer, probably taller at that moment, and it made turns, up, down and all around. I was hugging the thing that's infront of me that prevents me from flying off the coaster so tightly, I thought I might just die from being flung out. And nearing the end, there was a flash, so I thought that a picture got taken. I was still hugging that thing. And finally it ended.

It was the most frightening ride I've ever taken. I was shaken when the ride ended. And I have to give kudos to Kahmun for conquering her fear of roller coasters! Probably the same can be said to me, as I wasn't expecting something to terrifying. Well, all the while I was trying to pretend that roller coasters are nothing. But it was definitely something.

Next Area: SCI-FI CITY

Fenni, Yuhan, Zaki and I took the Accelerator. It's like those teacup rides as they spin you around in circles, we can spin ourselves around, by turning this wheel in the middle. It was quite a short ride, and we unanimously agree, it's not that fun, as compared to the previous ride...

Did I mention that for every ticket you pay for, you get $10 meal voucher and $5 retail voucher?

There was a B-boy performance going on while we were there. It ended some time after we arrived. And there's this huge stone monument. And we took lots of photos!

Hear ye! Hear ye! Come see Cowboy Yuhan burp as loud as a monkey in space!

We took a rest at one of the restaurants there, as we were tired and thirsty. After that we took the dragon coaster again, as well as the mummy coaster. Not satisfied, we took it (the Mummy roller coaster) again, tooking lots of shortcuts, and we reached the ride in abut 1 minute. And I must really give salute to Kahmun for braving the rides, especially the Mummy ride, not twice but 3 times!

We were really making the most of the money spent on the tickets. After the ride, we went to eat dinner, and trying to rush to the nearest food place, as the place was closing soon. We went back to Madagascar, and ate there. There isn't much left, so we just took whatever we had, using our food vouchers.

And we fooled around. Yuhan's idea for trying to get the Force to be with him. Pictures below:

We chit chat chot, fooled around, and enjoying each other's company. Peien left first. After sitting there quite some time after that, we left the place after that, somewhat rushing for time, as Zaki's birthday celebration is still not over. He has to go to E-hub to watch movie with his best friends. So we went him off. Not knowing what to do after that, we decided that we headed home.

One of the bestest days of my life. =)

Bad Reputation -Joan Jett & The Blackhearts

Event job at ION Orchard! And I didn't expect to see Yi Yin again after so long. Because she was the co-organiser of the event.

LI NING! That's the name of the product we're supposed to be promoting. Furthermore, it's the main sponsor for the upcoming Super Series 2010 badminton championship.

Yuhan, Keith, Zaki, Saiful, Wene and I met up first. Wuen Yin came later. And Yi Yin came late. Haha!

We went to eat breakfast at Shaw House, after which we reported back for briefing. All of us were part of the roving team, where we would go outdoors with our banners, creating a makeshift badminton court to promote the roadshow that was going on at the event hall. With Yi Yin guiding us throughout the time, starting from outside Shaw, then outside Wheelock, then the entrance of ION and finally Takashimaya. We took turns holding the net, banners and playing badminton.

After doing 2 sets of of shifts, we went back to base for a break. We even got to play badminton at a proper court, though not real back there.

Wuen Yin didn't go roving with us coz she's part of the crew, tending to the roadshow.

The guy beside Wuen Yin is Rajan, a friend we made at the event, besides, Charles, as seen in the 3 previous pictures, and Sebastian, the guy in glasses.

And Desmond Koh (I think) was there as well to emcee the event.And to end the day, a group picture!It was really fun and exciting event, with lovely people around, creating nonsense, especially Keith. Haha!

Beautiful World -Coldplay

AK Chalet to celebrate 2 years together, and still going strong! Well, even though I only joined recently, but that's not the point.

It was crazy! Madness! Insanity! Lunatic! (Insert more synonyms here.)

1st day wasn't much. We settled down, played Guitar/Band Hero. And furthermore, I was tired since I didn't sleep a wink the night before. Long story. I slept shortly after I lay down to sleep.

The next day was full of events! We started off with a trip to Wild Wild Wet! It was my first time there, and it was great. Even though it rained for a bit, thank God it was only a passing cloud. We enjoyed the rest of the afternoon in the many attractions that are found there. No pics here, coz none of us want to risk bringing a camera along, and getting it spoilt from all the water splashing around.

Evening was barbecue!Jia Hwei and her friend dropped by. And those who weren't at the BBQ pit went crazy back at the base.Time flew, and BBQ ended. Cleaned up the place, and went back to base, where the insanity continues. And furthermore celebrating Shahril's birthday! And more randomness continues.

And we washed up, and slept together in the same room (keep your mind out of the gutter folks), sharing ghost stories, with the lights and the television turned off.

I love it when everyone sleeps together in the same room, all cuddled up. =)

Sitting, Waiting, Wishing -Jack Johnson

Only You -Wild Rose Thorn

Sentosa! With the AK peeps. Those who came:

To kick things off, we started by surprising Yong aka AK White Tiger with the birthday cake and card.

Yong will never know what hit his head...

And he actually volunteered to feed every one of us part of the cake.Look at that smirk on Reezal's face...After settling down for a while, Eunice, Xin Pei, Karen, Reezal, Yong and me played Captain's Ball. Played for a bit and then Karen got lazy. Played monkey, and then Karen got lazy. Played volleyball after that, and Karen went back to base. And then we played frisbee. Playing frisbee is fun, especially when it's thrown afar and you managed to catch. And if you're good at it, you can even do some weird stunts, like throwing from under one of your leg, or curving your throw instead of throwing straight to the person you're throwing it to.

We even saw what looked like a jellyfish attacked a teenage boy. He couldn't move, so I presumed he was paralysed. And there was a big round red mark on the side of his abdomen, probably where the jellyfish attacked him. A group of his friend plus strangers surrounded him, with mixed feelings of confusion and anxiety. Trying not to be such busybodies, we continued playing frisbee.

And he's not the only victim of the jellyfish attack. The 2nd victim we saw being carried away in the beach patrol buggy was a young Caucasian girl. And we saw another one far in the distance as well.

This was the first time I saw such incidents happening, furthermore, the same case happening to different people. As it was drizzling the time we reached Sentosa and settled down, I hypothesised that because of the weather, the waves could have pushed the jellyfish closer to shore, thus the cases. Though I'm not entirely sure. I didn't plan on going down on that day anyway.

This is Kerrie.I enjoyed my Terriyaki Chicken Dry Ramen. Even though the chicken was quite hard, the seasoning they used in the ramen was just bursting with flavours. It was really nice. A must try. Elson came to pick Karen up, and then they left. We continued eating and chatting at the same time. Lots of nonsense. And Reezal pissing Yong off. After that we walked around Vivo. It got late, so we parted ways.

Killer Life -Morningwood

It's Good Friday, and Shaq decided that we should have a picnic on that day. And that day couldn't be any more perfect. It was sunny.

And this post will be dominated by Atika and Shaq, as most of the pictures have either and/or both of them in them.

In the bus. As Isk would be coming late, Shaq, Atika me headed to East Coast Park first.I look so freaky.

When we reached, there were already tons of people there. And I was amazed, even though I kind of expected lots of people there, but didn't expect such a huge amount of people there.

Furthermore, we were carrying lots of stuffs, so we decided to rent bicycles. A single bike for Atika, and a double for Shaq and I, since Shaq doesn't know how to ride a bicycle...

We decided to settle down at a bench at an area with lesser people, even though we initially wanted to cycle all the way to Big Splash, but found it to be too far.

And Shaq was so eager to play with the newly bought kite, so Atika and I tried to tie the string to the kite.

Fortunately, it was very windy at that time, so the kite flew quite easily. I stayed as far away from the kite as possible whenever it's airborne, so as not to be attacked by it.

And we slacked for quite a while, all the while waiting for Iskandar to come. I told him to call me when he reached, and he did, so I got on the double bike to fetch from MacDonalds. But in the end we walked back to base from MacDonalds, which was freaking far, due to some issues. Like he brought his guitar along, but it couldn't carried on the back. And he brought along 2 bottles of lemon tea. And we couldn't cycle more than 1 metre without losing balance.

We sweated all way the back. Because it was hot.

I know how to play the guitar! Hehehe. Well, not really.

And that's the last before we cleaned up the place and left that area. We had a very engaging conversation which lasted for 3 hours. The topic was about the difference between girls and guys' mindsets and why guys /girls behave in a certain manner when dating/in a relationship. There wasn't any conclusion despite having to debate for 3 hours.

Well, anyhow, I did enjoy my time with them.

I got bullied before the camp even started. Mischievous little devils.

After all the fun and madness, we walked back to the tuition centre, wet and messed up.

Upon reaching the home kids, all of us went to bathe and clean ourselves up. Then came dinner.

Dinner ended, and there was spare time for the kids to fool around.

After enough messing around, the next activity began. To introduce the flag each team designed, the name of the team and why the flag is designed in such a way.

And the winners were announced.

And then was the campfire songs and games. This is the only picture here.

And then lights out. Sarina, Fieana, Le Qi and I actually planned to eat breakfast at McDonalds nearby at 5am. So we took a nap. About 3-4 hours of sleep, and our alarms rang. Not really much of a good sleep. Eventually we woke up and went to eat.

Came back to the tuition centre around 6, to wake them all up.

Started the day with some morning exercises.

And then was breakfast. Peanut butter on bread.

And Day 2 starts, with outdoor activities. Multiple stations, and multiple tasks. I learnt how to make a makeshift stretcher using a canvas sheet and 2 wooden poles.

After all the fun and games, we headed back to base. It was almost the end of camp.And prizes were given to the winning teams, and best camper in the group.

Save Your Heart -Mayday Parade

Belated post on 25th November 2009

Trip to ION and the rest of town because we planned to watch the Christmas decorations! It was beautiful. The whole town was sparkly with the lights hanging over the trees and sidewalk displays as well as giant christmas trees!

We went to Far East Plaza as Raudha had craving for Slice. Verdell, Karen, Sky and me went to eat at KFC.

The same thing happened last year as well. We took a few pictures. And I'm not sure why I don't have them... Oh well.

Went to Orchard Central's rooftop. And the view was breathtaking! It was windy too. After a bit more chilling we went home.

Belated post on 21st November 2009

Vernon's birthday celebration! Failed plan due to unforseen circumstances. Initial plan was to go bowling but because they had an event going on, we couldn't enter. We tried to play pool but a SAFRA card was needed and none of us have it so we can't play pool either. This was the biggest HC outing yet, as a lot of people came for this. But in the end, we ended up wasting time standing around the vending machines...

It rained for a bit, but then it got better again. So as time hit 5pm, we headed out for dinner at Anchorpoint. Sebas and Lin went home.

After dinner, Shafiq and Raudha went off to shop, leaving only Kenneth, Alvin, Verdell, Sky, Karen and me. So we decided to head to Yishun SAFRA again, because we knew that the event has ended and we wanted to bowl quite badly. Haha.

High And Dry -Radiohead

Belated post on 14th November 2009.

Jia Hwei's belated birthday party! Plan: Dinner at Seoul Garden, then the birthday cake. Pool/Bowling and then thonning session at Pasir Ris Park.

Met up At Pasir Ris. With the birthday girl arriving fashionably late. Once everyone was there (Vernon, Verdell, Sky, Andrew, Kenneth, Karen, Jia Hwei and me), we proceeded to Downtown East for dinner!

And then we got to Seoul Garden. They didn't have a seating for 8 people, so we were split into 2 groups of 4 side by side. Vernon, Andrew, Sky and Verdell at the other table, and Karen, Jia Hwei, Kenneth me at the side. We settled down quickly and started ordering, using an ordering system where you use the mouse to order whatever you like, categorised into different sections. Once submitted, the order will come to you in a matter of minutes. Cool shit right? XD

Anyway, enjoy the pictures!

Once we were freaking full and paid for the meal, we went to take a group photo on the 2nd level just in front of the ferris wheel.

After which, Karen and I split from the rest of the group to get the same picture developed, as part of our Operation: B-D-J (BirthDay Jiahwei). Playing Agent K and F, which is us, as well as Agent V (Verdell) to get them distracted as they headed to Nebo while went to develop the picture.

Once we get the picture developed (and the cake) we went up to meet up with the rest of the group to start the main event of the night: The surprise birthday cake! Suddenly people start to 'go to the toilet'. Haha! We managed to surprise her in the end.

And that was only part of the surprise. The other surprise can only be achieved by getting clues (held by us) leading to the present, but after she follows what the person holding the clue wants her to do. One of them was to hold the strawberry in her mouth and walk to the arcade and back (not that far). The other being to blow a candle across the table and back. Picture below:

Jia Hwei managed to piece up the clues and find out the present was with Kenneth. And the other present was a scrapbook of wishes for her, within every page a picture of each of us and our respective wishes.

We wanted to play bowling, so went down towards the bowling alley. Oh, and the entrance to the bowling alley was cool and full of colours. So we took a picture there.

As there was a long queue, we had to take a queue ticket. So we decided to chill at Starbucks while waiting for it. But after a long wait, we went back there, and we nearly caused a huge commotion. So we were pissed off and tried going to play pool just beside the arcade, but it was closing soon, so we decided to slack at Nebo instead. There was a Guitar Hero game there, so we took turns to play it.

Other than the fact that one of the 2 guitars was spoilt (you can only strum upwards), it was fun. =D

We played till the person working there told us that it was closing. So we packed our stuffs, paid and left the place, on to the next part of the event, thonning!

They wanted to buy alcohol to drink the thonning, so we went to Cheers. But once we found out that they woudn't allow people to buy alcohol after midnight, we just bought normal drinks and started making our way to Pasir Ris. The walk there was long, dark, scary and still. There was barely any wind, except at times. It was quite a long walk, and we planned to walk all the way to Bedok Jetty, where it is very windy most of the time. But we found out that it was too far, and furthermore, we wouldn't to stress Jia Hwei's ankle too much, so we found a sheltered area to sit, which was near the playground.

Played sparklers, which ended very fast... TnT and random chat for hours. Then we went at the playground. Spun around the giant disc-schaped angled merry-go-round, and climbed the spiderweb, my favourite thing to play there. I wanted to commit suicide, but they wouldn't let me. Oh well. Haha. Proof below:

And the sun was coming up, so we decided to find a place to catch the sunrise as clearly as possible.The tired faces. Well, at least I tried to smile.It's like the sun's rays are tearing the clouds apart.

Meh, and we found out that we were on the wrong side to catch the sunrise. And we even somehow debated over which side of the park we were on, as we were confused over the fact of the sun rising and setting. Well, Kenneth's GPS on his phone shut us all up.

We headed back to Downtown East, contemplating on whether we should eat breakfast. We were too tired, so we headed back home after a long night.

Behind Closed Doors -Rise Against

This week of Digital Compositing and Special effects will span for 2 weeks. Said to be a mini project, our task is to shoot and then edit using After Effects to promote the latest album by an artist. Our team got 1 member to be the 'VJ' for MTVAsia. And we invaded the STA recording studio to shoot. The blue screen is huge, and we definitely had a good experience. Pictures below. =)

Then when we had enough fun, we went to pack and wash up. We met up again outside 7-11. We were walking around and we heard the host talking through the performance. So we went in and watched the animal showcase till the end.The show ended, and we stoned for a while.

So we headed back to Vivo City, where we had our dinner, walked around a bit, and then slacked at the auditorium. Karen and Verdell were exhausted due to the amount of fun we had before that. Left at around 8.45pm, where we made our way back respectively.

Belated post on 26th September 2009. Hari Raya outing cum jamming.

It was on a Saturday, and I had to work. So there were lots of houses I didn't visit. I didn't join them until after work. Actually there weren't that many houses. It was actually just Shafiq and Raudha's house. But they spend a lot of time at their houses though.

I met them whilst they were on the bus, on the way to my house. A group shot at my house. =)

As Raudha had to leave after that, we took this chance to take group photos. Unglamorously, under my block, in front of the carpark...

We were contemplating on whether to go to Zahiah's house at Pasir Ris before we go jamming, but because of time constraints, we headed to Aljunied station, and then to the jamming studio for jamming.

Despite epically failing during jamming, we had lots of jam. We self-declared it as jamming Hari Raya edition! Credits to Karen our mystery photographer. Haha.

We had already arranged for the whole band to break fast together at Zam Zam at Bugis, but Daryl and Kenneth couldn't make it. So it was just Shafiq, Zahiah, Noel, Verdell and me.

I ordered Chicken Briyani, and just look at the serving! OMG!Aye, it's Retarded!That's Verdell's normal face.Retarded's in pain for food.A great contrast as compared to the previous picture.After we broke our fast, we went shisha-ing, as what they did the last time, before Verdell, Daryl and me joined the band. We went round looking for the cheapest place for shisha, and after turning 398561298 degrees we found 1 at $15 per pipe. =)

A group came and the people in charge came and told us that the place we were sitting at was already booked, so we had to move to another section of the room, which is nearer to the entrance. And we had difficulty playing the game called Never/Never Not as some of them were distracted and I was practically sitting under the television (it was hung on the wall btw). We played till around 10, after which we paid for what we ordered and then left the place.

What If -Meg And Dia

Ben N Jerry's CHUNKFEST! I took the train all the way to Marina Bay from Bukit Batok. Had a good sleep somewhat, until the guy to left of me tapped me awake because I was unintentionally distrubing him. Oh well, I tried to stay awake for the rest of the journey and fortunately I did. I had a feeling I would be reaching on time, and I did... I think. Verdell's sister, Eileen was already there, but she didn't see me pass through the ticket gates as she was reading her book, so I pretended I didn't see her, and I stood against the wall, a distance behind her. Eventually she spotted me. Haha!

Some minutes later, Verdell's best friends, Jia Hwei and Karen arrived. This is Jia Hwei.And that's me sitting beside Eileen, waiting for the ever-so-late Shafiq to arrive...After waiting for what took like forever, Shafiq and Raudha arrived. We made our way to the shuttle bus stop, under the blazing heat.Eileen, or I would nicknamed her chinese name, Yiling, so as to be similar to Verdell's chinese name, Cailing. Haha!Well, we arrived anyway.Because the weather was freaking warm, we made our way to the gallery to get some aircon. Good idea by Raudha. =)

Oh, and I like how the pictures turned out in these. The colours are so vibrant. =)Oh look! I don't know which part of Singapore this is.We spent most of the time in here, primarily because there's aircon and a place to sit. You can Jia Hwei, Eileen and Karen sitting at one corner and Shafiq and Raudha hidden sitting on the other side of the low bench.

After 'cooling down', we strolled our way around the gallery and then exited through the cafe. Went up onto the roof after that. What greeted us was the strong sun beams raining on us from the sky. And the heat was unbearable. We saw mats on the floor and decided to find to 'conquer'. Haha. We also wanted to get as close to te stage as possible and we managed to get 1 that is nearest to the stage.

I was surprised the Muttons were there emcee-ing the event. They started with a Spot The Difference contest. They went round looking for participants and got 2 teams of 3 to battle against each other.This was how far we were sitting from the stage. Quite far if you ask me.

Random pictures.And then the next game was Giant Twister! And they needed 8 contestants to play. And Raudha and me were the lucky ones to be picked to play the game. I was excited yet excited to play the game whereas was reluctant to play. Eventually she did though. Probably we were seated so close to the stage I was more or less expected to be picked. Meh.

The contestants, plus Justin.This is how big the Twister mat is. Makes you go wtf. Everyone took their desired place and had to start from where they stood. Raudha was the first.Twister Ben N' Jerry edition. This is the twister wheel. Every colour has a specific flavour.

And the game started.Thanks to the new rule added by the Muttons (every move you have to move forward to the next colour), it got so much harder. I had trouble trying to not let my butt touch the ground. -_-And I got myself tangled with this girl while trying to move forward, as she was moving to the right of me.And it just got tougher with every spin.

Well, I lost, because the last spin caused me to stretch my leg further than I could. And Justin knew I had to stop playing as I had reached my stretching limit.

But at least I got a consolation prize for participating. =)

And the best will go to the next round, until the finals. The winner will win a limited edition Les Paul guitar. Cool shit or what? There were 8 participants altogether.Technical difficulties. But it resumed shortly after.This guy was the winner of the competition. Just looking at the picture, you can already tell how professional this guy's playing is.AH WANT MA FOOD!We broke fast by eating snacks. And we sat for a while more.

I don't know what Verdell is doing. Probably kissing through the phone. Haha!We left the place at 8. Took the shuttle bus to Marina Bay and then dinner at Marina Square's foodcourt. After which we sat outside Marina Square where we played King's Game. One of the dares was to act as though you're taking neoprints, with numbers 1-5, acting cute. Haha!

Jamie All Over -Mayday Parade

I have been going to break fast together with my friends quite often, but I don't have pics, so that's why i've been lacking in updates. Sorry people.

So i've decided to post up my lyrics composition here. The tune and melpdy isn't there mainly of the fact that I can't play the guitar and I don't have a singing voice. Tell me what you think. Probably you can even come up with tunes and comment it on the tagboard at the side. =)

The first one I made since I joined [S.T.M.] is called Settle Down Sunshine. The idea behind this song is about this guy who has a crush on this girl he kept seeing every Friday. Why friday? Because that's the only day he gets to see her. And by "get to see her", I mean close interactions aka face to face chats and getting along with one another. On other days it's just hi-byes.

This song is influenced by Wordplay by Jason Mraz, so it has this happy tune going on, hence the name.

The other original is called Lost. Just by the title itself, you would have probably guessed that it'd be emo-ish punk and the like. The reason why I came up with this song is because our band has the tendency to create emo tunes.

Our originals, Finding You and Moving On, are slow songs. And furthermore, whenever we have impromptu sessions, the guitars tend to play emo chords. Well, to create a style to what they play, I came up with this song.

But the twist is that this song involves screaming to emphasize the sense of lost of direction, nowhere together. Just like a path to nowhere. And the song is fast-paced instead of the usual emo slow songs. But this is put on hiatus as my band is not confident to take this challenge on yet. But it's not hard to imagine how this song will sound like. If you listen to Taking Back Sunday or Lost Prophets, you can more or less imagine the song already.

Only Love -Trademark

Problem 15 photography, the last week. Sadded, but I'm glad that we had lots of fun throughout the lessons, and I really did learn a lot.

The last week of photography, we had to do on fashion photography and how it reflects the different lifestyle.

And our theme was music! And because it's the last week, we slacked. We fooled around more as compared to previous weeks.

Most of the time was spent trying to take the first picture, which is me and my drumsticks. Meh.

This is just random. Haha! We started to slack around, and there was only Raudha and me left in class as Bear and Darren went out for a smoke.Emo time!Introducing Tiger the dog....

Well, enough slacking. Time's a wastin' and decided on the other type of shots. We finally managed to get our shots.

On My Mind -New Found Glory

Photography problem 14. Our mission is to take pictures based on different moods of our choice.

And then coming up our best and 2nd best shot, to which we call our good shot instead. And our theme was Interactions. This basically means interaction between 2 subjects.

We were fooling around at first.

Darren was aiming for mystery, a challenging one if you ask me. Thanks to Google, he managed to find a good concept to portray mystery. Go Google!

By the way, here's unglam Darren. Haha!

Keith attempted to do on Sorrow. He took a lot of pictures for the same shot, which also meant he used up most of our time to take our pictures. But it's ok. =)

But because my face is too narrow, the picture seemed unbalanced. And so I was switched to Darren instead.This shot would have been much better if her face wasn't cramped...

Keith attemped at making calm, and he used me as his 'guinea pig'.

And last but not least, me. I attempted Calm and Anger.HAHAHAHA!

If you haven't realise yet, our pictures had a certain hue to it to depict the type of mood it's supposed to convey. We used gel paper and place it over the lights to create the different lighting colour.

Secret World -Sweetune

National Day 2009! Sebas had 2 extra tickets so he invited me, and I invited Verdell to come along.

It's a good thing the funpack came in different colours instead of the usual red and white. Sebas got yellow...I got blue! =DVerdell wanted purple, but since you can't choose, she got green. Haha.What's inside?While waiting for the show to start and battling the EVIL sun, these are the only things that kept us entertained.And then it finally started.Look! Care Bears as motivators for our show!
Each seating group had a leader in charge for the wave. Suhaimi Yusof, my favourite funny man, incharge of the dark blue sector.
Gurmit Singh, in charge of the Red and Orange sector.
Mark Lee, the dark green sector.And Vernetta Lopez, in charge of the light green sector, where we were seated.The percussion band. I heard Beats Encore from RP is involved as well. =DThe next event, the usual Red Lions jumping off from the sky.And then we were supposed to do the Marina wave faster than the speed of the Harvey motorcycles, from one to another.And the sports car.Sang Nila Utama skit.THE Sang Nila Utama.The lion dance.And his brothers!Next was the terrorist skit. This is where all the cool shit parts come in.The 'poisoned' performers.The reporter shown on the 'eye' can be seen at the bottom left. Well, it's just Michelle Chong. Michelle Chong right? I don't know. XDHere comes Singapore's artillery!Next is the main parade.Sebas' favourite part of the event. Too bad there isn't a trail of smoke left behind by the planes.The cannon battalion, stationed near the Merlion.One of the unique features of this year's celebration was the boxes at either side of the 'eye', where performers would dance inside their respective individual boxes and dance in tune with the music.This heart toy can change between red and white light!Barbarella.And started the medley of songs.I hate this guy for the fact that he gets to play the drums in there. This kind of thing happens once in a lifetime.The disco era, with Sargeant Dollah leading the group. =DThe Rempah Girls.And I managed to get this 'camera moment' shot, just nice. And I love the different colours that fly out from the top of the stage.These people were slowly 'walking' up the 'building'.This concept is cool!And this is the last picture I took before my camera battery went flat. PDM -Trish Park, 샛별, Zito

Photography Problem 8. We were tasked to do landscape photography. And our theme?

Colours.

Raudha initially wanted to take Wayne with the mask on to show the current situation in Singapore, more towards RP, and so her colour was orange...

Stupid Wayne. Haha! My colour was green and white.

My first attempt. Fail... I wanted to use the greenery for framing the buildings, but it didn't turn out so well.I changed location, and I managed to get my good shot after a few tries.

This was taken on the top floor at the block opposite RP.Raudha was still unsure of what to take. So she tried her best taking whatever that will look nice at the end.

The shots that didn't make it...Take this special moment to look at this distracting picture.And we shall continue...Running out of ideas, we decided to have lunch with the HC peeps at TRCC's Artbites.

Free Bird -YUI

Happy corner movie outing last Sunday! Transformers 2: Revenge Of The Fallen is a must-watch, although it's not as good as the first one, this one has more innuendos, humour and special effects.

After the movie, we took a group photo.

We talked and chilled and chilled and talked until 7+, then we had our dinner at Marina Square.

Pool after that, but only for 1 hour. Then we went home.

Photography Week 6. The topic was about capturing subjects in motion.

In class:
Raudha brought coloured conductor stick thingies...

After a bit of discussion with Juliana (our facilitator), we went to the class next door, hoping to capture a trail of movement, using slow shutter speeds.

It didn't go well initially...

Hahaha! Finally we decided on using lights, to create beautiful effects.

We decided to change to a darker location, so we went to W6's Level 2.

Using incredibly low shutter speeds, we decide to 'draw' using our handphone's light function.

Belated post -13/06/2009

The closing act for the Singapore Arts Festival. Me and the Happy Corner peeps were supposed to meet at 5, but because of the change of timing, I headed to Vernon's place first, which was where we were supposed to chill out first before we head out to the event. Sky, Shafiq, Raudha and her sisters as well as Xin Hui came for the event.

It's called Crackers? and the event is just plain fireworks and it starts at 8. We planned to reach at 7.15pm so as to beat the crowd when they start to enter the site.

The people at the event were wearing construction hats and clothes, making the place like as though we're entering a construction site when we were actually there to view the dazzling fireworks.

We also brought light sticks specially for the event. And we even gave one of the 'workers' a light band. =)

While waiting (bad photos ahead)...And then it started (more bad photos and shaky pictures =( )The fireworks tower popped 'cherry blossoms'!Then the projector showed the contours of a person climbing out of the big tower where nearing the top, an actual person actually climbing up to the top of the tower. I find it a cool shit effect.After speaking some stuffs, which is about taking risks and stuffs and started stripping all the way to her swimsuit, the pyrotechnics continued.And the cool shit effects of using a VERY slow shutter speed. And shaky hands.And last but not least, the remains of the Red Man after it popped.When it ended, we went to relax at MacDonalds around the area, chit chat abit and then we made our respective ways back home.

Still Alive (Paul Van Dyk mix) -Lisa Miskovsky

A belated post on 4th June, which is the time when we RP students having holidays. And we Happy Corner peeps went cycling at ECP.

We met up at Bedok station first, after which we took bus 196 to ECP. Then we went to Burger King for lunch.

Observe as Sebas tries to control the ball using his mind... This is Hannah, one of Raudha's sisters. This is the youngest in the family.And this is Raudha, Hannah's older sister. The oldest one in the family. Opening packets of chili sauce makes her happy.XD

Sebas' ever-amusing Grinch face. Haha!Er...After enough of fooling of fooling around at Burger King (folding paper plane, leather wallet with chili, etc.), we went on renting our bikes and skates.

Raudha took the opportunity to disturb Shafiq's hair when he's busy putting on his skates.

Once we're ready, we're on our way!

We took a break at Bedok Jetty and took shelter and one of the 'bus stops' there.Look at the lion roar!Look! It's a 10-wheeler!We then went back to our base where the tent was pitched, because Sebas was getting tired.And my gear got stuck within the frame of the bike. And my hands got black trying to fix it. Sebas' as well.

Back at the campsite. Oh, and that's not our tent there.

Let Your Love Shine Through -The Suns

A supposedly surprise birthday for Vignette, but it was still a surprise in one way or another. Haha. Shermin and Elaine's acting is so bad. We nearly ran into them at the bubble tea stall which Vig and friends would usually go to, but thankfully she didn't see us and we quickly took another route.

We waited at Shermin's House... and we turned the lights out. I immediately spread myself out onto the floor, hopefully not to be seen. But then I realised she will be blindfolded despite the fact that the house will be very dark, but whatever. Haha.

When she took off her blindfold someone turned on the lights and we all shouted "Happy Birthday!" much to her not-that-surprised look, given by the fake acting by Sher and Elaine... Haha!

After that we just basically sat around, watching No Reservations on VCD and then Anger Management, during which the cake actually came... o.o

I wasn't expecting a cake... Well, it's not even my birthday... Ok whatever.

Oh and I love the birthday cake hat. Haha!

The first day of our semester break was spent doing our FYP. We finally got started with our stop motion project. But not the motion itself. Well, maybe only for the first few parts of the whole animation. Well, at least we progressed.
